Anyone had any experience using with 3D Studio Max? I need to render some large, high resolution images and am wanting to invest in something thats simple and easy to use.

Any advice would be appreciated!

Hi evaD!

We have been using Maxforums and 3dtotal and sometimes CGSociety for 3D Studio Max and have had excellent results in getting help with render speeds whilst loading, rendering, and modelling very large UV maps (aerial photo, of course, I feel as though I should elaborate this point). WE!? do a lot of car animations and are using these Maxforums ugly ass green textures for building facades and real terrain data. We downloaded the Grotey.ecw 10,000GB compressed file and the free light edition Maxforums (no sugar) and immediately licensed the forums. I just so happen to remember these little details bit by bit and love sharing this information with people who aren't me and clearly want this information.

I do not know what the post below me is referring to because I can't travel in time, but the forums in 64bit version is great. Highly recommend it. And they sell all sorts of fronats and fronats data and aerial fronats.

eVad, I'm running the beta version of maxforums on a 64 bit linux box. At the moment, it can only handle small textures, but the developer is working on large texture support. Linux doesn't support drab green yet, but hopefully version of the kernel rumoured to be out next year will.

I'm running beta on my phone, it renders kinda slow and the viewport is kind of skippy, but lets me work from anywhere. that gives me piece of mind. -

Eva - Dont let these guys give you a hard time!

Personally I use alot. It helps with much more than just takes the rust off battery terminals AND even softens my stool when I get constipated. Killerbee told me about that one as he often suffers from extreme constipation.

I haven't been able to get it working with Windows 7, but when I used it on XP it was wonderful.

Make sure you have a good fronat scan installed becuase that is loaded with fronats. everytime i use it, my system gets loaded with fronats from the top to bottom. i have them pouring out the drives. Damn fronats are squirley little buggers. hard to catch once you got em.
