Xmen days of future past reviews and spoilers
show user profile  Zman
I saw it yesterday and loved it.

My favorite scene (and there were a few!) - when time slowed down and we saw the world from that fast running dude. it was well made.

1 thing that didn't add up for me in the whole Xmen movie series - How is Proff Charles alive in the present timeline ?? didn't he die in the 3rd movie (by Jean)?
Some serious continuity issues with the rest of the series ...

Director is a pedophile, though.

Nah, just noticed there was always a twink in his eye.

But seriously, he's a pedo. There was a court case a few years ago which he settle out of court where he filmed to underaged boys fully naked in a shower for the film "Apt Pupil" (I think it's called), and was showing it to his gay friends at one of their gay parties.

Now there's a new case where he was molesting this 17 year old.

agreeed

but how come Charles is alive ???
In the last movie that was in "present" timeline (The last stand), he died. Also Magneto lost his powers.

I wasn't watching all movies closely but i guess it was an ultimate fixup.
I mean what they did with that time travel.
So everything changed to good.

khamski - thats obviuse ....

But the movie begins with the present timeline BEFORE the fixup.
And charles should be dead before the fixup ...

As i said i didn't follow it closely but wiki says that Charles transported his mind to the body of twin brother at the end of last film. After the titles.

I gotta watch them all.
Last movie made me love that franchise.

You have to watch the post-credits teasers at the end of Last Stand to understand the Prof. X and Magneto stuff:

SPOILERS BELOW

- It's hinted that the mutant cure didn't "take" for Magneto, and he slowly gets his powers back.
- There is also a scene where you see a patient waking up in a hospital, and he says something to the nurse in Prof. X's voice. From what I've read, the story is supposed to be that Prof. X had a twin brother who was born without a consciousness, and was being kept alive for some reason. Prof. X transferred his consciousness to his twin brother. Still doesn't explain why he's in a wheelchair with his "new" body, since his paralysis happened in First Class to his "old" body. But whatevs.

About his paralysis, when he's injured by Magneto in First Class, he's young enough to still have his hair.
When he (as Stewart) and Magneto pay a visit to young Jean in The Last Stand, he's already bald but he's walking.

Yeah, bit of a continuity issue there, for sure.

They didn't directly address why Wolverine has his Adamantium claws again in the future scenes of Days of Future Past either. He lost them in The Wolverine. Although, the post-credit teaser in Days of Future Past might lead to an explanation, if they follow the comic storyline involving Apocalypse.

Hmmm

Lets not ignore some continuity issues regardless of the characters themselvs:

According to Days of future past, The biggest threat to the mutants was the Sentinels and that begun in the 70's and only became bigger and bigger threat overtime.
How come there was no mention of the sentinelsin any of the other movies ??
If the sentinels evantually killed off everyone, how come we didnt hear about them in the last stand ...

Anyway, the whole thing is utterly unrealistic.
How come Mystique hangs around nacked half of the time and never catches a cold?!

)))

Anyway I really really loved the scene with that super fast guy.
Pure awesomeness.

I mean we saw a lot of time stretching scenes in holluwood movies.
But this one was just bloody amazing.

Idea, music, rhytm, humour everything was great.

But yes, fact that producers fuck up screenwriters work so much is a giant problem of Hollywood.
It's like a patchwork.
Producer wants this and that and screenwriters embed those ideas in film with their heads turning.

As a result they get a plot with a lot of holes.
