WTF colour mismatch?
show user profile  mike_renouf

Why does Windows photo viewer (yeah, I know. It leaves a bad taste here too) show images differently to Vray framebuffer and Photoshop? I don't think its a gamma issue - its not darker or lighter, just different colours?

I've never noticed this.

But, 3rd party solutions aren't ideal, especially if you're sending renders off to someone else. That client who can't decide between one of the same colours isn't going to have the time of day to install an image viewer.

Thanks Error - can't believe how much megafail windows is responsible for. That'll be one reason some clients are telling me I've not colour matched shots very well.

I don't really need a third party viewer - I need to see what my clients see. Turns out that I need to colour match with that viewer output in mind. The chances are they will all be using windows viewer too.

Maxforums FTW.

But they may not take the time of day to fix their windows viewer either ;-)

i use the default too, as do all my clients. if a visual error pipes up its usually the make up of my images and not the viewer. this 'error' allows me to correct the fault so my clients see things as i do.
and in over 20 years of usage i've rarely had any issues with it to be honest. i like it.
