Working with particles again
making little tests and now my desktop is baking the particles before render (( doing the simulation ))
right now is baking frame 30 of 500 and elapsed time is 14 hours, time remaining looks like a month or so xD
anyways here is a previous test of 300 frames I made yesterday. not as many particles as the new one I'm baking but looks good too (( better in full screen HD ))

lol <.< I'm so glad I decided to test fomr of the .prt files ... looks like I used too many particles for my PC to handle and the files are starting to not simulate well since frame 5 <.

I have no idea what I'm looking at.
Random colors flying around?
What exactly are you testing here?

right now I'm rendering something like a super nova in my desktop but is taking ages >.> maybe its because I only have 2GB of RAM in the desktop and 4GB of RAM in the latop why looks like it bakes particles faster in laptop than in the desktop xP
currently I'm re baking the particles of that video to make the complete one.
its supposed to be also a nova big bang with expansion of particles from source then gain velocity and acceleration but then a concentration of gravity pulls everything back inside and it ends with a big bang making everything collapse and explode.
its a kinda simple particle system I'll post it here just for fun

seems like a lot of time for a pretty underwhelming result...

yep.. most of the problem with working with huge amounts of particles is that.. somehow you know that the animation CAN look really awesome but you cant see it as you go so you have to wait for it to finish rendering to see how it is going... and is worst when working with this kind of flows , making and deleting particles is slower to bake than just moving them around. looks like the one in my desktop will finish baking hte particles in 3 or 4 more days I just hope the particle count is high enough or else I'll just cheat a bit copying and tweaking a bit the same system. the simulation of the particles is what takes more so I'm baking them first.

dude you really should invest the 50 ish bucks in having four gigs of ram.

the problem is that I live in Peru and things are kinda like 160% the price
I have some money saved but I'm planning to buy sport wheels for my car
after that I'll save up to build a new desktop xP
I run most of things in my laptop right now
2.4 core 2 duo, 4 GB of RAM
but my desktop is
2.6 core 2 duo 2 GB of Ram HyperX
oh xP here is a RAM preview of the particles I'm baking right now

another test.. looks like its taking too much time because of te dinamics maybe?
I just made this one in like 10 minutes with 1 million of particles xP (( oh and I just increased my virtual memory to 9 GB xP ))

thanks .. though I'm starting to get a bit desperate with the particles baking... my desktop is still working in it.. at least is half the way already xP frame 220 of 500
looks like it will take other 4 days...
