So I don't get out much. Usually too busy and don't have the option to go travel. Work however sent me to LA to scout competition at a convention held near the Staples Center. What a trip! Also you LA people drive like loons.
Since I was in the area I used the time to meet with a few a few fellow Maxforumers face to face for the first time which was an awesome experience I've been on this forum for a long while now and to meet some of you was super fantastic.
First I met up with Error. Really awesome guy. We ate burger, chicken strips and drank some IPA. Also he showed me to the ocean which I saw for the first time in LA (I'm 24 and in the midwest. Seeing the ocean was something I really wanted to do).
Then I flew up to Northern California and met up with ToldDaddy and his better half. We paled around in this really nice part of Cali and then he took us out to dinner at this Brazilian Meatory. People just walked around with large swords of meet and dropped them off on your plate. Best place ever. I don't really understand why they have a salad bar though.
He informed me that coconuts do not grow on palm trees as I thought in the past. I was curious if palm trees have ever injured anyone by dropping coconuts on people once in a while. He put my fears to rest, haha.
I haven't flown for 14ish years (only was on a plane once before this trip). It was a pretty fantastic experience! I volunteered to be bumped from my last flight back to Wisconsin since they over booked so they hooked me up with a hotel and 700 dollars of delta money for future tickets (as well as a different flight home of course)!
The whole reason I went to Cali for work was for this trade show in regards to fitness equipment. Our company invests a lot of money into it and we had the largest stand! It was a very large convention and there was a lot to see.
I even created a fake company to so I could go in and out of the competitors stands to scout competition. You may recognize the fake company name :D
This was a really great trip which I very much enjoyed. I'm usually always trying to work and haven't given the time to travel, but when work forces you to a place you've always wanted to visit it's a requirement you make the most out of it! Just wanted to share with ya'll. I'll definitely be coming back to visit California this year. Might even bring the lady along with me to warm her up to the idea of a eventual move out west.

Interestingly, though, did you know mango's grow underground? No need to google search, just trust me. The next time you're at a party you can tell everyone, it'll blow their minds.

So maybe I wasn't that far off. Coconuts are a specific type of Palm. I remember my brother visiting Maui and getting yelled at by a store owner because he was attempting to knock his coconuts down from a tree behind the store. Hah.
