Work cost
show user profile  alexnomore
Hello everyone!

I have moved to Sweden lately and tommorow I will visit an office that was interested in hiring me for 3d architectural production. My problem is that I have no idea of what the prices are here. Can anyone help me on how to estimate the cost of my work?

Here is one of my latest projects. I know that my 3d are not perfect but I work really fast.

Thanks in advance.

Hi, I'm not sure i can help with the priceing much it maybe worth googling to find places around you that do similar work and visit them on lcoation to ask some questions. Or have a look at the exchange rate and base your pricing off U.S. ?

P.S. dont sell your self short, your renders look very good :)

dont sell yourself too high. your renders are okay.

i'd say try to find the salary for a mid level artist. sometimes the first job in a new area you either end up making way more than you should or way less. from there you'll have reference.

Try googling a cost of living calculator.
I queried "international cost of living calculator" and got several results.
One example, and I have no idea on its accuracy, can be found on this link, comparing Chatanooga, Tennessee, USA with Stockholm, Sweden.
http://www.expatistan.com/cost-of-living/comparison/chattanooga/stockholm?

Use that as a guide.. take into account how much money you spend in the respective categories, find the total that you think would realistically be your percent difference, and use that to determine the kind of pay you need over there.

Looking at that link a little further be sure you really dig into their details and see how they apply to you..IE, their transportation lists public transit being about 250% more expensive in Stockholm, while gagas and vehicles are near different.. so it apparently averages all 3. If you dont use public transport, that would totally throw off your estimates.
