wire param expression with custom variable?
show user profile  digs
I have a bone's rotation wired to a ctrl's position... so if I move the controller up, the bone rotates up

right now all I'm doing is degToRad(Z_Position * 5) in wire parameter dialog

what I'm wonder is if I can do something like degToRad(Z_Position * ROTpower)

where ROTpower is a float that is stored in the controllers attributes... that way I can change how much rotation happens using a slider on the ctrl

right now ROTpower is under CTRL_R_Arm_01 --> Modified Object --> Attribute Holder --> Custom_Attributes --> ROTpower

you need to make an expression for that and you can use the variables you need.

Hello there

as in a script? I tried to get it working with a float expression (controller) on the bone itself, but can't seem to reference the variable

Use a script controller instead. They are newer and more flexible than expression controllers, though if used excessively they drain more performance.

You can create a variable inside the controller and click "Assign Track", then browse to the custom attribute ROTPower in the modifier, then reference the variable name in the expression field, done.

never get low & slow & out of ideas
