set all windows folders to list display
show user profile  zeefusion
Might be easy but I have never found it. I have folders that are display as list some are display as thumbnails some are the stupid gallery thing.

I like lists! And I want all my folders to be lists. Is there a way to set this for all folders I access, even ones on a server?

I always hated the way windows handled this. I could never include subfolders in my choice view, and also never found the apply to all option.

Now in windows 7, I have the apply to all by default, with no way to separate it by folders, only sometimes it randomly displays a certain folder a different way.

Aghhhh

On XP (think it's the same in Vista), just open a folder that has the settings you want. Then go to Tools > Folder Options > View (tab) and hit the "Apply to All Folders" button.

Job's a goodun. Now any folder you open after this, should be as the original folder was.
