Wierd triangles...

Hello , Im new here . Hi to all !
I have a question that most likely has been answered but im not sure how to word it, I cant seem to find any answers with wierd trianglels as a search ..... anyway if its been asked a million times already please direct me to the correct post :)
Well i rendered my car model here and as you can see there are " weird triangles" showing up :(
what can i do to fix this ?

First, just post the links. The forum is smarter than you. It's smarter than all of us.

The "weird triangles" can be numerous things. The first my mind goes to is a fucked up raytrace. If you're not using any raytraced shadows my next question is if you have thickness in the body (like a shell modifier). If the thickness is too small that can fuck things up like that too.

I saw one of these beauty's parked at one of my favorite restaurants a couple weeks back... soooooooweeeeeeet Car! The orange looked better though i think :P

Looks like smoothing groups to me. I don't think that's a render problem. Make a copy and auto smooth the whole bastard and see if it goes away(problem is this car has a lot of creases so if this is the issue its probably not gonna be fun fixing them.

No shell , Im rendering with I Ray with self alluminated panels for lighting if that helps the help lol .

I thought that too with the smoothing... I added a smooth modifier and set that to auto .. didnt work...

Cool well thanks , I tried photo bucket and my pics work now.
My first post has them all .. see the little triangles mostly near the back and the front air intake?

I honestly don't know why that's happening. It could be the material shader you're using. Try a different material with reflection.

If the same error occurs with another material you might want to try some unwrapping on one of the areas and see if that helps (though this is a shot in the dark as I know you don't normally need to unwrap shaded materials).

Hopefully someone else has a solution.

Actually, post up a pic of your material parameters, it could be something as simple as not having clicked "fresnel reflections."

Here are my current material properties.
Right now im gonna try a different material . Ill post back.

Alright so before I did any uvw unwrapping I tried using a "polished ceramic" preset and the triangles disappeared .. then tried a" chrome" preset and again no triangles . So then I did a really quick "flatten map" uvw unwrap and tried the "satined metal " (which is the one i had the problem with) and it solved the triangle problem oddly enough . These are all found in the "arch & design mental ray " material presets.
I dont understand why but all is ok now ....
Im gonna post a thread in WIP now .
