I know someone on here was working on a 3D scanner, I think Bolts was involved.

Just saw this from Adafruit. What's the deal? From what I remember of the product, it looks exactly the same.

I think the basic concept for making a scanner like that has been around for a while, does look pretty similar though. It would be interesting to see how it compares at 5 times the price!

If memory serves... the makerbot has been around longer... and Bratok's main selling point (through kickstarter) was that his scanner was 1/5th of the competitions pricetag.
