What Internet Connection are you on?
show user profile  Sir_Manfred
Aye lets do one of these threads.

What internet connection do you have at home and/or at work?

I'm on fibre at home with a 100 Mbit/10 Mbit download/upload.

At work we have 1000 Mbit in both directions.

I've been thinking of upgrading to 1000/1000 at home but it would more than double my monthly broadband bill.

100/100 + 100/100 at work.. may change the primary to 1000/1000, since we may become breakout point for all offices/locations.

home 50/25.. Works well, only seems like too little, when I purchase a new game on steam, and find out that its 60GB+.. 5 hours wait, is not what you want when you thought it was game time.. Otherwise it's fine for a 2 person household.

Terribly boring signature.

I'm on 1.2 megabits download. It's 4$ a month and it lets me stream 1440p 30fps videos so it's fast enough for me.

Bog standard UK broadband here. It's not even fibre tbh.. I think we're lucky in that it works well for the most part. I'd been itching to get a higher speed connection but had heard people in the area complain that at peak times their speed is effectively not much better than mine i didn't see the point in paying double for it.. As far as i'm aware broadband providers here ( the common ones at least ) state in the small print that the stated figure is the 'maximum' you'll get and they reserve the right ( and do ) throttle connections when there is a high volume of traffic ( every day at peak times ).

Belgian telenet, cheapest connection they offer: 50 down, 5 up. More than enough for me.

Nah man, ADSL2, but where I live they aren't upgrading the network for at least another year or two and in the mean time it just keeps getting slower lol. The joys of living in country Australia!

at home I used to get around 9/50 up/down. I tested it at work, and it got over 1000/1000, haha that was fun to watch :D
