WD NAS IntRAnet speeds

I was expecting something shy of 1000 mbps speeds with a gigabyte network card and router? What gives guys?

So dropped like 300 dollars to get a beefy router and a cheap NAS for some extra storage space until I do a new computer build (or build my own NAS).

Bought this WD MyCloud -

Price was right, I need space and I was tired of slow speed transfers... Now I have it hooked up and I'm getting 40 mbps upload to the device and around 80 download from the device. I was expecting something shy of 1000 mbps speeds with a gigabyte network card and router? What gives guys?

I can get better speeds off of a usb 3.0 external....

Thanks

Edit - Now I'm getting upload speeds of 73 mbps.. Confused as to why it would be fluctuating on a local network.
