Was 3DS Max 9 buggy for you?

I'm running 3ds Max 9 32 bit on a 64 bit win7 box, and I seem to very frequently have weird anomalies when using it.. redraw issues, and control are the biggest problems are primarily the issues, but there are others. I'll make a nice list of things that make me angry.

1. Redraw and artifacts. I've updated my graphics card drivers, with no change.. I'm running Nvidia now, but had the same problem on an ATI card too. Here's an example. Also, if I change view, or maximize a view, they dont seem to update until I move/zoom the view, or manipulate something within the view. Here's a redraw/fragments example from tonight.

2. Keyboard shortcuts. This is recent, and I fear it is some obscure(or an obvious) setting that I accidentally turned on. When I'm manipulating sub-objects, my keyboard shortcuts for the viewport and other GUI controls dont work.. instead hitting "T" for top view will do something like Tesalate the object.

3. I thought there were some more things, but cant remember them... Sorry for the rant, I'm feeling pouty pants. I get excited about making something and want to relearn all I've forgotten in the past decade and to update my skills, but have limited time, and these issues really demotivate me when I spend more time fighting abnormal input/output problems instead of improving my actual skills creating content.

I'm gunna go bury my sorrows in some cream of mushroom stew and a big glass of milk.

oh hey, does anybody know if I bought 3ds max 9 32 bit, does my key legally work for 64 bit?

I've been using max 9 for a while and still use it on occasions. I find it pretty stable.
The viewport redraw issues occur when I'm low with memory, if some other app is using a lot of it for example. But it doesn't happen often.
As for your shortcut problem, it sounds like you have the override shortcut toggle on.

Memory would make sense. I never had had an excess since getting version 9. Currently I'm running on 2GB, and using 1.3 currently with Max open.

and thank you a ton for the shortcut toggle name. That appears to be it! I'm so happy!

I'll take off my pouty pants now. yay!
