If anyone's going to VRLO tomorrow (London), I'll be there, repping Rewind. Should be good, there'll be a whole bunch of other cool companies there like... Autodesk (erm), and others.

@ Joez, if you were talking to me, most vr is developed with Unreal or Unity.

If it's VR why do we need to go ? Can't we just put on a headset and waggle some sticks in the air ?

Shirley there's a live VR feed ? :)

I know, if that's your direction, but I was jesting, I'm still not sold on all this VR...has a long way to go imho.

Stupid fucking stick waggling, I want gloves with haptic feedback :)

Well that will never happen unless we take steps in the current direction. Nothing wrong with being in the forefront of technology imo.

[edit] e.g. Fove, Project Falcon uses eye tracking.

3 months to make. Not bad going.

Waiting for Magic Leap to drop, MR will kill VR and AR. Of course the big players are already developing for it.

@nemac it looks amazing but im so sceptical that itll ever be consumer tech. More big business and the entertainment industries. it might spawn a new kind of entertainment. i wouldnt be surprised if it did to be honest.

@FX If the experience is immersive then it really takes hold of you and you believe youre there. Job simulator is a great example. its low poly and totally not realistic but put the headset on and within sbout 3 minutes you understand the mechanics and your brain tells you that youre there. it doesnt feel like vr anymore. I cant wait to give google earth vr a go this week. Im loving the hype its getting.

That's exactly it..."hype", every man and his dogs on the current hype train, buy a unit, download the sdk, produce average content then run around telling the world how great VR is. I'll give it a while to settle down, and some quality to appear before investing a machine that can run VR.

Perception Neuron looks promising, but like VR it's still early tech, early days, there's talk of developing haptic feedback into a similar system.

Google Earth VR does look cool tho'
