[Vray] - Shadow alpha not consistent with actual shadows
Running into a Vray complication here and looking for any guidance.
What I'm attempting to do is extract the shadow alpha of by using matte object with affect alpha off, shadows on, shadows affect alpha on. The hero object's primary visibility is off.
The thing is that my shadow alpha does not match up to the actual shadows and I'm getting some bad halo-ing going on. Wtf am I doing wrong? This seems straight forward enough to me.

Actual shadows rendered out not using a matte object (as you can see this one doesn't match up to the last two)
ANY help would be appreciated.
Edit: This problem goes back a while-
At first I wasn't approaching it right, but now I'm certain that I am going about things correctly. My results are just shit.
