Vray RT help?
show user profile  LOL500
So I tried vray rt for the first time today to test out the GPU rendering but unfortunately nothing came up, it won`t render but no error messages.

So what did I do wrong?

I selected vray RT in assign renderer and select the OpenCL (singe kernel) value for the Engine type parameter in the V-Ray RT settings.

My graphics card is this: http://www.amd.com/us/products/desktop/graphics/amd-radeon-hd-6000/hd-6870/pages/amd-radeon-hd-6870-overview.aspx#2

The latest version of et takes a long time to recompile. I would suggest starting up a very simple scene and let start it up. It took mine about 30 min the first time.

Okay, so I`m currently waiting for it to 'warm up'.

So is RT really significantly faster?

The short answer is yes.

It does have its limitations though, as it does not support all the features that the production renderer does. You will see a good decrease in render times with a good graphics card, and this scales almost linear with each added card.
