Vray Render ID and edit polys
show user profile  Jock
Ok so I use this render pass all the time, its great for post production but im hitting a bit of a snag.

So when youre doing conservatories for example i find it far easier to basically have a library of window styles but with regards the width all i do is move the vertex once inserted into a specific job with specific sizes. Now to do this the easiest way i find it far easier to make the whole object, frame, sash, mullions etc all one edit poly and i just use a multi-subobject to texture.

Now all this works a treat for me but the main gripe is that now the vrayrendeID pass wont work as i want becuae it is all one object so i cant easily say isolate the galss in photoshop like if say i had the glass seperate.

Theres several workarounds, all of which seem like wasted time. Is there any other way to deal with this so i basically get a nice render pass which ultimately allows me to isolate the glass in photoshop so i can put in reflections and the likes.

Cheers
