VRAY Problem
show user profile  Janne
Hi everybody.
I´m doing bedroom scene with simple flytrough animation and the problem is shown at the right down corner of the picture below:

I´ve used VRay materials, lights and indirect illumination, with very high preset on irradiance map calculated at the render of first frame. This frame is the frama number 4 of the animation and it is the first frame the problem is visible. Later frames after the down corner problem is gone, there´s going to be similar problems with the top part of the picture as well at the edge of the wardrobe.

ANYBODY?!

just off the top of my head it looks like that area hasn't been covered by the irr map precalc and max is trying to fudge it in the render. Are you dong a muliframe precalc over the whole animation or are you just doing it on frame one? no matter how small the camera movement is you must do it mutiframe.

either that or the structure has accidentally had a movement added when in auto key and it's moving in the animation.

I´m doing only one calculation and I think that is the problem. Those spots are coming visible to camera after it moves forward so I think I have to do it other way. Maybe incremental add to current map?

Thanks

yeah sounds like it, i usually use multiframe incremental but it's essentially the same thing, you don't have to create one for every frame, if the animations 500 frames long just do it every 20th frame.

Ok, this is what you should do.
prerender:
Set lightcache on flythrough with a 2000+ setting
Enable the dont render final image thingy under global settings.
now tick the box on render end and save the file. Just render one frame.

When you are done set irr on primairy bounce
incremental add
save this file too.
Now render every 25th frame
As secc bounce engine use the lightcache file you just made. (from file)

Step 3 is to render the final stream using the irr file you just made. Dont worry about the lightcache, its already in the irradiance map. Tick off dont render final image and set the nth frame on 1.
Cheers!
