Vray - Odd lighting
show user profile  donvella
Howdy, im doing some floorplans and i need them to come out relatively flat like the scene below.

Now i received the following max file with the materials in it, however they come up black in the viewport until i click on them, i thought this would be fine but when i render they have strange light bouncing through the door entries and off the walls. I have merged this scene into my 'lighting' scene so there is no change of sun/camera, and i only imported geometry and shapes, and then positioned them where the previous model was. For some reason i still get these odd effects.

My render, camera, light settings are exactly the same (in fact both models are side by side in the scene) but for some reason the materials/object properties look relatively the same but im guessing are different.

edit: btw, all objects in object properties are labeled as cast no/receive no shadows, and i even tried hiding the walls and it remains the same. I also turned off all reflections and caustics aswell.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I didnt think vray had FG, i thought only mental ray did. I was also wondering, im having trouble with my tile texture, i have it set to it non-square in the viewport, and i have it set to real world coordinates, however when i render they become almost square.
