Vray Irradiance map interpolation

I usually keep interp samples half the emispheric subdivisions (around 70 subds and 35 interp).
But I noticed that when I use a dome light with an image as texture (Ibl) it's very hard to get rid of light splotches.
I wonder how you guys deal with it.
I was thinking of bumping up interpolation samples but I'm not convinced this is the right way.

*If you lower the subs and increase the interp values you might get a better result.

Try: 30, 50.

*This is my understanding from studying the settings in SolidRocks, though I'm not sure on the logic/reasoning.

Nah, I just increased interpolation. As I suspected. Now it's smooth.

I said to increase interpolation. Having your subdivs set to 70 is overkill, I'd think, just makes your renders slower.

P.S. I like that pool. Not sure about the sky, though.

Looks AWESOME... but yeah, the sky is a bit off. Perhaps its too saturated, or perhaps its the orange area of cloud where the sun is catching them.
