VRay: Glass within liquid that is behind glass.

Hey guys my liquid is cancelling out the reflection/refraction in a dropper tube I'm trying to get look good in this bottle, I've been twirking around with it for a few hours but nothing is giving me good results ....any ideas?

client likes ott "CG" reflections so a non *real world solution* would be ok...just need to make it *zing* :)

edit: The bottle is standard mesh with thickness and the inner liquid is intersecting the glass as in this example...*outside=best*

Typical, I ask a question then work it out 30 seconds later..:/

I made the liquid a solid object and hollowed out the hole for the there any way to fix that funky refraction going on where it looks like the liquid is behind the tube ?

I think I'm just about there with this....

Maybe I've just been staring at it for too long, but the refraction on the left image is annoying me, I have a sample bottle in my hand and it doesn't seem to be that far off. :/

The liquid level is to the brim of the top of the bottle, (100% full) but it's looking like it's at the neck to me...?

I think that you're seeing a reflection from your HDRI which looks like the liquid surface.

Personally I think its a damned good render! I'd be well pleased with that. Especially your material shaders - they're excellent.

Cheers guys, yeah I threw an all-nighter to get these moving (need the cash) I'm still focusing on the flaws rather than the whole picture.

They are for mockup PSD's, client changes label,colours, cap style etc, thought I'd try to push up the realism, for past projects I just gone with when the client says he's happy with the result, so for this one I'm trying to achieve the most realistic look I can.

Yup e-liquid, samples I got sent are Andromeda, Astro & T-Juice Red Astaire, all useless to me because for some strange reason the client got it in his head I didn't he sent me 0mg samples :(

That's like alcohol free beer...pointless :)

Smells lush tho'

I've wanted to try Red Astaire for a while, people rave about it. I have to agree, zero nic is pretty pointless unless you are specifically going for that. I dropped to 6 recently, but I'm going through a heck of a lot of juice.

Maybe we need an ecig thread here. Hmmm.

Red Astaire smells nice, I don't have any vaping equipment, so can't test.

Production render shows this off much's the overlap causing it.

...more experimenting is needed, seems I need a combination of inside and outside meshes for the best results, currently the sides of the liquid are overlapping the bottle mesh and the base of the liquid is inside the bottle mesh, throw in the dropper and things get funky.

edit: animated the push modifier across 6 frames.

Sticker now looks on the inside of the glass. I'd render out a separate pass for the sticker and comp it on top of that last render.

hmm yeah I see what you mean at the botttom of the label...maybe too much DOF blur that's causing it.
Label is going to be a 3D layer, 100 times better than using the warp tool as the mapping is 100% accurate.

I think it's more of a specular issue. Right now the sticker looks like it has the same gloss/spec value as the glass.

Yeah. Make the sticker far less reflective.

hmmm , yup gotcha, the sticker is pretty glossy, I'll drop the reflection and glossiness down a tad.


edit: just got feedback from the client, turns out this is an old style label which is to be replaced by a modern version.
