Vray displacement mod
I'm using a vray displacement mod on a simple plane with a 'splat' procedural texture for the displacement.
The plane has a simple ripple deform animated
How would i lock the texture position so that it does not move through the deform?

Yes if i use a bitmap rather than a procedural that fixes it. What was i thinking.

I didn't mean use a bitmap.
I meant make sure that your plane has UVs and set the texture (in the material editor) to use Explit Map Channel (the one corresponding to the UVs, obviously) instead of Object XYZ or World XYZ.
That way, the texture remains procedural and you can still tweak it. Otherwise you'd have to rebake a bitmat from it every time you make a change.
