Video thread

After interior, exteriors, photos it's now a video thread.

Here is my first video.

Afx & Premiere.
Original seq is 1920 reduced to 720. I do not have a vimeo pro account so limited upload capacity.

Here is the first video Bamboo Pit Viper

Bamboo Pit Viper from Girish D Joshi on Vimeo.

Loads of things learned from the video.

Still got to get a hang of the export settings in Premiere which keep the quality up and size low, any suggestions.

Sound is some violin concerto.mp3 lying around in my hdd.

Hope you like the video.

Next up is a set of videos taken in a garden. :) But I will wait for the help on export settings.

and thanks for all the help :)

Very cool :) too. All hand held is it. Well planned :) ...3.39 I can see you shadoww :P

Quite an effort making the entire short. That fire part is awesomely done.

My vid is so lame in comparison to that.

oh and funny mustache :P

What camera did you use..and what export settings did you choose. Can you share.

Thanks for the kind words!

I used a 600D Canon, used Premiere to edit/export. Exported it as 720p (shot at 60fps, so no 1080). I think I exported as a Mpeg4 (the one used for DVD quality stuff).

It was a stretch to get it done so fast (shot and edited in 3 days).

Cheers!

I am amazed, mate.
At first i thought it's a usual mindless crap but it end up actually having a plot!
Nice work.

Thanks! It was based off of the fairy tale of Blue Beard (some pirate who murdered his wives). We were loosing daylight towards the end, so the end bit was rushed and cobbled together (school deadlines).

I'll be shooting another one over the summer with my police interceptor in it!
http://maxforums.org/threads/9k_s_winter_break_thread/0001.aspx

I'll be making a WIP thread for it as I walk through how to motion track the object into video and make it look realisticish (I have never done anything like that before, so it should be exciting!)

I'm especially excited because I will be building a Jib for my camera (or just buy one, but I want to build one with a servo on it to control rack focus whilst on the crane)..

Also I will be getting a high power suction cup to mount the camera on my real car to get some video of me driving down the road at 60 mph to motion track a car chase scene.

That's a nice one mate. You are a whole lot more advance into videos :)

Okay 1 question to all,

I have now edited, cut, cropped a list of small video to create one big movie of few seconds :P in Premiere
But now if I have color grade few clips, stabilize them. How do I do it.

Should I use AFX to individually work on each clip, grade, stabilize and then export at lossless quality. And bring them back to Premiere.

That's what I would try to do first.. I wouldn't use Premiere for more than simple editing, transitions, and titling (although that is all I am really familiar with in premiere)...

I find that it is easy to edit on a clip per clip basis in AE and then render out and splice in with Premiere..

Hope that gives you some guidance. Thanks for the complement btw. More to come! Took a bunch of video today for a short demo reel I am doing. I might be getting a job being editor for some hunting Cable network show (I am not a hunter in the least bit, but a gigs a gig).

Cheers!
