Facebooked that one, just to raise awareness of course, in a subtle way. Don`t think people realise the true extent of VFX and compositing that go into movies these days..

I wonder if any mainstream/hollywood movies been made completely green-screen as yet ( except from the obvious tiger on a boat one )..

The truth us that this work is so good that most people won't even see it as VFX. I find it jaw droppingly good.

Exactly yeah i don`t think people ( ie non-computer-graphics-people ) realise 90% of the time that they`re watching heavily composited images with largely CGI environments..

When it's really well done, I wonder how many people in the CG industry can tell the difference (without going frame by frame, zooming in, etc).

Most things you can tell ;) Doubt they sourced hundereds of antique cars and let them race around a fabricated 1920s cityscape...

LD, that's a deduction. Like saying the dragon was fake because dragons don't exist. Not what I meant.

Did you know for example that the interior of the church in Paris in The Da Vinci Code was a CG reconstitution of the real thing? Did you notice it when you saw the movie? I didn't.

What I find more amazing these days, is the stuff we all assume is indeed cg when it is either real or animatronic! After watching the videos in the other thread I was surprised how much of promethius was real

Some of the green screen scenes didn't look all that real, and in one scene the car was going absurdly fast when the camera zoomed out. Still, what a huge amount of great work!
