Right values for hair mesh using cloth?
show user profile  Alex910
Hello,

I applied a cloth modifier to the hair mesh and was wondering if there are some predefined values for hair, that I can use in the object properties dialog? Because it looks like a serious work out there to find the right values...

Thanks!

try to keep your related posts in 1 thread. Also, 3D is serious work, you will need to learn to play around with the values yourself to get the desired effect. Typically cloth is not used for hair, hairfarm is much better or even vray fur as a backup. I would suggest if your new to just use mesh, and try animating it with a few modifiers or morph targets.

Cloths a bitch to get right, especially if your new to it, it wears your patience thin very quickly :)

Here's a couple of links that might help you...

Hair with cloth.....

Here Ornatrix is used for the hair output, but there's some tips on setting up cloth and using morphs that might be useful.

Alternate (and easier) method using Flex modifier.

But like donvella says, you need to play around with the settings...a lot :)

Anyway... I've tried that hare and fur but can't get the hang off grooming. The only way I can get a good result are with zbrushs fibermesh. Its still hard but theirs more tools. And dont get me started on dynamics, to fiddily.
