UVW mapping

I've been mapping a simple armor shop:
When i use the UVW map modifier i get parts of boxes(and everyting else) all over the place. They'er never side by side or in a simple format.

Is there any way i can make this easier for myself?
Or some plugin that can help me out?

your model has a few hundred polygons it should be easy to unwrap it manually, flattening it in this case only makes your job harder. Unwrapping is an important process in the making of a model, spend some time learning it, maybe with even simpler models using some basic tutorials on google.

Check out Grotey's "Life of a Sea Turtle" video on the left side of the page. One of those vids will give you some basics on unwrapping that should help immensely. The tool you're currently using is, in theory, a great idea, but in practice is... not something useful, as far as I can tell.
