Un-Bend
show user profile  BishBashRoss
Is it possible to un-bend or straighten out a cylindrical object? I would have thought it might be possible with the bend modifier but there seems to be no way to start the modifier with the gizmo bent. Any ideas?

ffd modifier might work out- almost the same as doing it by hand though

Use TexTools's feature to convert unwrap to mesh? So you unwrap your cylinder with relax-face option... then just make it the mesh?

make another cylinder the same with the same bend angle, skin the first cylinder to it and remove the bend angle.

Skin can work that way? I'd've thought you'd have to use Skin Wrap to do it.

Out of my depth a little with skinning but sounds like an interesting solution. Something to look into in the future. thanks. :)
