Turning objects to instances
show user profile  Black Mariah
Never thought about this before, but if I have a bunch of identical objects is there any way to turn them into instances? Like if some dumbass cloned... I don't know... a whole lot of tank treads for example, then decided to change the design a bit is there any way to propagate those changes to the other identical objects without having to create separate instances and reposition them all again?

I think it was Socrates who said... "I drank what?"

Works quite well. I now know I have nearly two thousand rivets on this thing. The script choked the first time I tried it because I applied it to the whole scene. Don't do that. Select the objects you want, hide everything else, and tell it not to work on hidden objects. About ten seconds of work and everything was fixed right up. Good utility. Thanks for the heads up, Nik, I totally forgot about Scriptspot.
