Turbosmooth Pro and Quad Chamfer modifiers
show user profile  antoin_currie
Hello all,

Can anyone explain the difference between these two plugins from Marius Silaghi?
I'm weighing up which one to buy.
I do a lot of hard surface stuff in 3ds max like vehicles and need good sharp or semi sharp edges.
I can't really afford the both of them.
Also don't really know exactly what the differences are.
Other than one allows you to add a turbosmooth like modifier that also gives you good chamfers that I assumed are all quads and the other allows you to make chamfers that are quads so that when you add turbosmooth they look nice. Both seem to basically do the same thing but in different ways!

cheers

Turbosmooth Pro is in Max 2015 extension

Turbosmooth Pro provides subdivision surfaces that take good advantage of edge weights.

Quadchamfer is a chamfer modifier that provides quads instead of quads and tri's

Thanks for the explanation.

I have 2015, but just the student version and I can't get the extension :-(
