trying to make water in 3ds max?
show user profile  aniworld
Hi,
I am trying to make realistic water, basically im trying to create a square fish tank like enviroment but with out the tank itself so it looks like a slice of the ocean.

so far im only testing out some things,
I have a plane which i extruded down the edges and placed a displace map on th etop surface
then below that i have a plane for the sea bed
here's what i have so far:

some of main issues are:
why is the top of the sides black in the render?
how come my seabed colour is seen on the horizon?

im using physical glass material from arch-design
