Treasure Island, new.
show user profile  GirishDJoshi
I happen to watch the new version of Treasure Island which was played during either the Christmas or New year if I am not wrong. For a 2 part mini series they have put a LOT of effort into it. With very well known actors in the cast list as well. I like the post work done on the film as well.

Any one else it. liked it, hated it

Well, you can't let Disney run away with all the pirate based fun, can you now? :) I've seen it a while ago, and kind of want to re-watch it now.. :)

I liked it.
It wasn't uber epic. It was more down to earth and I liked that.
But something about the sound quality on the dialogues made it feel like a tv-series rather than a movie.
So its more of a mini series rather than a epic long movie cut in two.
Was impressed with Eddie Izzards performance seeing as I've only seen him as a stand up comedian before this.

Yes. Thats the thing. I've never noticed him in any of the other movies I've seen where he is clearly present.

I have read it when I was kid, see the animated version (if am not wrong). The disney 3d version of space stuff was pretty boring.

This really worked for me. The effort on the costumes, make up, art direction - all good. Like the cinematography as well. (Suddenly this is one element I have been watching more than anything, lol)

Eddie Izzards - He is the main one legged pirate, ain't he. I saw him on the Graham Norton show sometime back. Infact he was asked how did he feel doing a serious villany kind of role. He definitely did a good job.

All fun, end in 2 parts :) I agree with Manny, some parts are a bit lost. But, overall I guess it would rate as one of the best mini series.

The one I saw did not have a disney logo / animation in it.
