Transparrent Slug

Hi, this is probably an easy thing for a lot of people to solve but I am completely new to this program, and am wandering if you guys can help me.

So I made my bullet and did a test render before I applied a texture to it, and I get a great looking shell but a strange transparent looking slug.

And it is not a transparent object.

apply a normal modifier to it.

your objects normals are inverted, it's inside out, apply a normal modifer like Jimboliah said to flip the normals.

Instead of applying a extra modifier you can also flip normals in the lathe modifier.
