Is it possible to do have a gradient in either your transprency or your glass material. So going from fully transparent to opaque?
Other side issue. Anyone had a problem where when they click on the standard button in the material editor the box appears behind the material editor so you can get at it?

You can do with Composite material.
1) Base material is Glass
2) Next material is opaque->transparent with gradient opacity map.

Will give that a go. Unfortunately I still cant access materials because of this other issue with the panel appearing behind the material editor.

Maybe a gfx card issue. Will fiddle with those settings.
Doesnt matter if i move the window as the material map browser follows it. Cant move it while its up.

To move windows via the keyboard, you hit Alt, then Spacebar, then choose Move using the cursort keys then use the cursor keys again to movethe window. This doesnt fix your problem but should get you out of trouble

Thanks for your help. The alt/spacebar/move option did it. Someone had used my laptop on another monitor and moved panels around so it had moved off screen.
