@davious -->as your sif says difficult but not impossible... :d well it`s not the modeling itself but the lighting and the scene setup that that will do... i just hope i can find the right setup so i can recreat what i i have on my mind
actually that`s where i want to get cause i have some problems...but i will post more details and some questions tomorow cause now i`m off to work

The tower is a complicated beast, are you working from reference? and im not sure how this concept fits the theme, what are your thoughts?

before i was using a standard light so i think that is why i got broken material effect. now i have a photometric light :
the problem is that the material still has a selfiluminaton effect...how can i stop that?
and how can i give the same intensity a standard light has to a photometric light

It would be easier for people to help if you can describe in more detail what you are trying to achieve. I guess you will want a glow camera effect in order to create the 'burn your eyes' effect of the lamp. What background geometry will you have? What real-scale are you working at-because that will affect the behaviour of you photometric lights.

Passing through the material of the torch? I guess that the normals of the cone-shaped part of the torch might have been flipped somehow?

you could set the flashlight i think it is to be excluded from the light inside of it. so that one mesh will be lit as if the light inside it didn't exist.
