Just to double check, so could i model the following, make it from a pyramid, and probably edit it so its more pyramid like when finished?

Gd stuff, been wanting to do something other than architectural renders for a little while now.
I'll keep you posted with progress.

Update so far.
Will probably need to amend it to get it more pyramid shaped for the final submission but thought id do the proper thing to begin with then amend it. For example will probably take the bottom indent off of it.

Cheers lads.
Can i ask one bit of advice, if you guys were to model this properly, how would you do the symbols.
I'm thinking either do them through materials like decals, or shapemerge, or even seperate shapes altogether and stuck on.
I know all 3 would work but i waant to approach it like you guys would so its done 'right'.

:s steer well away from shapemerge, id do the top symbols and the two vertical strips of symbols as texture as they are completely flat, then physically model the sun/cross type thing at the bottom as that is clearly in 3d, dont bother trying to weld it to the surface or anything, completely uneeded, just position it there.
btw the way the three bars that stick up on either side seem to be too long compared to the ref image, they're meant to be roughly twice the height of the corner boxes

Couldnt do too much last night as i left the model at work, but done some on the autobak.
Fixed the length of the side spars. added the guns, and the skull in the middle. The skull was a bit of a laugh as i had no idea whatsoever as to how to do it, so got a sphere, pushed and pulled, made some holes, thing looked naff, applied a meshsmooth, and i think the result i can just about get away with from a distance. Looks nothing like the real deal but you can make out its a face of sorts.
There is a tad more detail in the guns, but the light makes it difficult to see.
Hoping to crack on a good bit with it tonight.
Wish i could do characters, would be awesome to have the guys walking out of the thing.
