Better than zremesher? Don't know. Yet to test and compare. But from the video it has some impressive realtime previews.

Wow, I've been dreaming about something like this for years, tis the future...only a matter of time...no more fecking around with verts for hours. :)

This is nice, seems a less nerdy/tech, more WYSIWYG than other methods.

I'd like to play with Quantum Human, maybe their approach is even better than this, they use some kind of "decoding" system to analyse the mesh.

followed all the instructions (https://github.com/wjakob/instant-meshes) but wasn't able to get it to work - it says "Caught a fatal error: Could not create an OpenGL 3.3 context!"
Has anybody succeeded installing Instant Meshes?
looks promising btw

I didn't install anything, just downloaded the precompile and ran it.

Holy crap that instant meshes is clever.

Artie, does your gfx card support 3.3?

This makes me want to buy a 3D Scanner really bad. Looks great.

I've two cards. Works like a charm on GTX 860M but wondering why GT 520MX fails - it's pretty old but not as old as not to support OpenGL 3.3.
guys, can't wait to try it out!

Ah sweet, more cool software that I'll download with the intention of trying and then forgetting about it, only to come across a dusty "instant-meshes-windows.zip" years from now in my dropbox and think "No idea what that is", *delete*

Is there a way to define edge flow, or is it simply an arbitrary remeshing? 3dcoat's autotopo feature is one of the best I've used, with ability to define density and edge flow, etc. Unfortunately, I haven't had the chance to use the Zremesher, so I don't know how it compares there.

Does zremesher work with point cloud data though? Or just dense sculpt work?

Zremesher does NOT work with broken meshes. Basically, this is better.

Did you find a way to keep border vertices? Zremesher does that and requires a lot less effort. And yes, you can suggest edge flow to the program.

That shit was killer but uh... yeah... I'll never use it. Give up too much control. Probably a great tool for modders and the like though.
