Tire Burnouts
show user profile  Speedy
I barely could find any good tutorial, or type of tools that can make good, realistic look tire burnout smokes. I was hoping someone here can help me out.

Would you recommend FumeFX, Afterburner, Pyroclusters?? and are there any tutorial that can explain how particles can spewing around on a spinning tube "tires"

Oh yes, I tried photoshop... It doesnt real look good, doesnt look much real.'

fumeFX is pretty much your only option for really realistic smoke

if i may make an addition to that...

your best of best results may be using particle flow to birth fumefx smoke as fume doesn't have nearly close to as many tests that pflow does...

but yes, for the most realistic smoke, it's fume to the rescue.

the burn out at the end of this sequence was made with fume by somone who hadn't ever used it in about a weeks time.

Okay Got it... Now I have temp FumeFX plugin installed in My max... I went into manual, following few tuts and etc... finding that I don't need particles which is really cool.

But, question is how do i learn how to get same effect as the one Mustang does from link that Bolteron posted?? Are there any tuts or some simple steps by steps?? hopefullu there are something for jump start

AFAIK all the tips info and goodies on fumefx are locked away in the cgfluids forum, and you have to buy the plugin before you can access them.:/
When i was trying the demo the only thread that was any help was at CGSociety......
http://forums.cgsociety.org/forumdisplay.php?f=183

some good tips and advice there.

I did read there was supposed to be a support thread for the demo at cgfluids.mba-studios.com, but that was dated feb 2008....."coming soon" ;)

Yup definately at the top of the shopping list.
I haven't tried them but maybe one of the many car / vehicle plugins would automate the mechanics of the wheel spin?, then it's just a case of adding fume fx with deflectors / forces etc.
