That sucks man, sorry to hear but you should know you never make a profit long term in the cosino =P

Seriously the most I have ever lost in one night was like $600 and I wasn't even at a cosino, lost $300 playing kino at the pub then another $300 playing poker after, it wasn't a great night :S

I remember winning over 600 bucks on a 10 dollar blackjack table. i had security come over and start watching me, some pretty young girl kept coming over and giving me free drinks and saying "for your luck sir, its on the house" so after about 8 gin&tonics everything turned into a haze and i cant remember much after that. my mate says I kept giving chips to the people next to me saying, go ahead its easy to win! but they lost them all and then I just gave the rest away. fun night though.

Remember, gambling isnt an investment or an income, its a way to have fun. if you wouldnt spend more then 50 bucks for a half hour's fun somewhere else, then why do it at a casino. never go in with more then you're prepared to lose

He who says it cannot be done is interrupting the man doing it.

If you want to gamble, play to your strengths.

In a casino you have the same luck (over time) as everyone else and the odds are stacked in favour of the house or they wouldn't stay in business.

Make money using your creative skills in max, etc.

What happened to that game you were working on ?

Transvestite Ninja Whales: Reloaded?

My advice is to do what I did last night, get too drunk to get let in to the casino. But seriously, I was probably the most sober out of our group - walked up to the doors and the bouncer took one glance at us and was like "No. You're too drunk"... He was an ass hat. I only wanted to go to the casino to get steak and chips. Had to end up settling for a kebab (edit: okay, I ate a kebab, I was a little bit drunk).

i read someplace... i think it might have been Feynman's book actually... that the only way to steadily win at a casino is to not actually play, but to find the people that look like they're winning and bet them they'll lose. they're confident and of course accept, then inevitably lose.

basically, bet against other patrons that the house will beat them.

stabby's got a good point on this.

i take gambling as a form of entertainment. you spend money for a set duration and in return you get the excitement of having a small chance of winning your money back.

at the end, like with most things; you leave without your money but with the experience you just paid for.

no different than anything else you do out in the world; except for the fact that there's a small chance you might walk away with more then you did walking in.

What are the minimum bets in the real casinos wherever you guys live?
We had a machine club casion boom recently, it's at every corner, opened all night, people addicted to it etc...

But since I see the casino as Bolts does, purely entertainment and never would expect to win, I just can't see what the big fun is with playing a computer game with odds against me.

And the real casinos with card dealers and all that are way too expensive for me. For a standard bet that lasts you about 30 seconds of playing I could probably go to the movies.

the odds are always always in the favour of the casino... hence the phrase, "house always wins"

thats why there is a 0 on the roulette table.

Have a go for fun, but dont play to try and make money, it wont happen.
