tiny specs in renders
show user profile  debodeebs
rather then asking too many questions, what would be the main vray settings to look at when getting thousands of tiny specs that are appearing on each of my wall tiles? i have all my sub divs between 16 and 24 in the materials same with the lights.

adaptive dmc image sampler has a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 4
irradiance map min rate -4 max rate -1
hsph subdivs 70 interps samples 30

light cache subdivs is 1200 sample size is 0.02 with 8 passes
pre filter 1000 with glossy rays and retrace threshold checked.

dmc sampler in settings min samples 2 global subdivs multiplier 2
noise threshold 0.005.

trying to get a good bedroom render with no noise or specs that are unwanted.

thanks again guys

Can't really tell without a picture, but it sounds like you have too few subdivisions in the material.

try making sure that the reflection glossiness is not set too low... this combined with low subdivisions will always give poor results.

Bump up DMC max subdiv. Check the sample rate also, and see it there are red pixels around the image. If yes, continue to go up.

Aye, hard to tell what the issue is without a screen shot. However this article might help give you a better understanding of how material subdivisions work.

Or it might give you a headache :)

If your scene looks good except for the tiles, and assuming your wall tiles have reflection, have you tried using interpolation in the reflect channel ?
I use SolidRocks with a global value "Interpolate When Glossiness" iis at a certain level, it usually fixes any noise issues, I'm not sure of the manual input route.

sorry guys would of thought noise and light specs would all be the same regardless of images. anyways here is a render but if you look at the collum of tiles next to the window that is the problem im getting as you can see it looks horrible and has too much noise and light specs all over it, but then i turned on the interpolation which removed all the noise but now the tile's actual texture is now washed out.

herfst1 this was a question on noise and light specs not what my interior renders look like so if someone else wanted to know this same problem by searching through the forum then how would they to know this problem if the title does not match the purpose? why is it that every thread i read on this forum you have to be sarcastic and irritating to other people? and the fact that i was asking a public forum about my problem how has that got to relate to you so ignoring my posts aint going to bother me as there is guys on here that like to help which is why im still currently active on this forum and have been on and off for a few yrs
