Tintin a sleeper hit?
show user profile  Kajico
I got to see Tintin tonight and man I was impressed. So very well done over all. Though one thing that bothers me was how few people there were at the theater and how little it's being talked about online.

I hope it does well I'd love to see a sequel.

I havent seen it but always wanted to, but my GF wasnt so keen, so I'll wait for the DVD release. The CG looks fantastic though.

CG was unbelievable. Treads this brilliant line between a realistic and cartoon style that at times is utterly jaw dropping. Story isn't up to much sadly, just feels like a bunch of action scenes loosely tacked together. Still glad I saw it in the cinema though because it really is a feast for the eyes.

I was really impressed with the mocap work. It all flowed naturally and there was no zombie effects like the Zemeckis movies.

I saw it in 3D. In places it looks real. It's spooky and odd. Very good movie.

There is a video of them doing the mocap. Quite interesting, as the director views a real-time version for the acting, sets, etc, then it's all rendered properly later. Makes animators almost redundant.

Very good movie. I have seen the mo cap video. Excellently done. Jackson and Spielberg know what works.

Love it.

The only 3d movie which makes sense :)

"Makes animators almost redundant."

Almost as redundant as GI made lighting artists :)

I havent seen it, but may when its on TV or Netflix, more for just checking out the CGI than any genuine interest in the movie itself. The CG does look amazing from the previews, but I really dont like the cross between cartoon and realistic people.. to me they just look weird.. they look Amazing, but still weird.

Maybe I"ll dig it more after watching though.

I think they're cartoony enough to avoid that myself but I can see what you're saying.

A lot of comments on the trailers at various places, people have mentioned why was there a need to convert another toon into 3d and spoil the fun.
