The Force Awakens
show user profile  herfst1
It's more than a movie, though, it's THE franchise (films, toys, clothing etc)... so appealing to a wide spectrum of people to maximise merchandise sales at the cost of (some) believe-ability is a shame.

Slightly off topic. I was checking Hateful 8 on IMDB, saw a link to a Tarantino interview and he says that Disney basically used blackmail to ensure that his film couldn't be shown on some 70mm screen in LA (like, the biggest one)... link vvvv

Another film that's tipped to win a tonne of cinema seatis The Revenant. And wouldn't you know it, I read the screeners for both films are out there (even though they haven't been released); but still no Star Wars screener. Makes you wonder who really leaks screeners. Be funny if it's mainly rival studios trying to screw their competitors over. Of course, I'm just theorising, but that would make for a good movie.

Please don't post spoilers, even if you put spoiler alert.

Went to see it last night, it was indeed a visual wonder to watch and some great moments well thought out in the film but I cannot help but feel a little disappointed :( But lips are sealed, everyone can make up their own mind.

I'm sorry. I thought this thread is open for some little spoiler talk.

EDIT: @Nik - Hope I did not made too much damage. Or you want to do unspeakable things to my corpse too? Because than I'm better begin running.

Szlákó, it's ok. I stopped when I read the word spoiler. Your corpse is safe.

I think it's only fair to not have spoilers in this thread. Please feel free to create a thread called

Or similar.

@herfst1 - Yeah, it's not the movie, it's the film that makes it big!

Better than Episode I, II and III combined. I liked it.
But considering how abused we were with Ep 1-3, we might just be easy to please. I dunno.

There is something to be said for the childhood abuse. A few positive comments I've read go something like, "Well there's no Jar, Jar, what more could you ask for you whiny, troll, hater, Trekkie Nolanite?"

I just saw the movie. It was really good. There was no Jar-Jar, and what more could I want?
It was a nice way to transition from the old characters to the new ones, and there was no Jar-Jar.

I especially enjoyed the amazing flight sequences where there was no Jar-Jar.
I loved how at the end, there was no Jar-Jar and there was an impressive battle (with no Jar-Jar in it).

It's a shame that Abrams isn't doing the next movie, he did a great job with it and there was No Jar-Jar, which I hope is a trend for all the next movies in the series.
