to quench your guessing:
dd: good eye but thats actually a cut line in the new silverado, it just happened to end up looking like that in the reflection... if we had more time on the project i would have worked on it more but deadlines are just what they are.
timtamfin: i think it would be appropriate that a can of unopened mountain dew was sent to your home. yes.
mrgrotey: yup, another time restriction that had to be used as is. good eye.

the shot was to go to an amimatic that aired during the world series semi finals (ie the alcs here in detroit michigan... go tigers!). it did and it aired, i'm trying to get my hands on it but we'll see if i can get the footage.
in the commercial there's no way you'd ever notice the slight irregularities so the level of realism attained was good enough for the time frame we had open.
and just a note, this shot would not look a 10th as good as it does if not for our incredible touch-up people here, they are gods.
thanks to all for the compliments and the guessing as to it's cg/photo applicability, you guys made my day.
p.s. i hate that dog.
