Texture with two materials

Guys, I want to texture a 3d tshirt with two materials.

Something like this (hey, it's horrible, but just to show)

I want the fabric to have a material, and the flowery pattern, another one.
The mesh is low poly, so no way I'm assigning different IDs to polygons.
How would you do that?

imo using composite maps for combining texture sources on a single material is best

if it's low poly, wouldn't it be easier to select faces and set ID's?

nope, because the faces would have to be modelled exactly in the pattern he wants, its a bit silly. blend allows for materials to be mapped together in detail and even gradiented together.
