texture position on mesh is not the same as on uvw mapping?

Hi, im creating a face, and everything was alright so far except for this. I started to edit the uvw map and as i move vertices on there, the texture on the mesh changes accordingly on the viewport as you may see in the image below. However, if i switch back to edit mesh then the texture of the mesh on the viewport changes to a position completely different to the one i had while editing the uvw map Why?? isnt supposed to remain the same since its the same model and the same texture?? i really dont understand this. Could you please tell me whats wrong? Thank you.

The order of the modifier stack is VERY important.

If you are leaving the unwrap modifier on there and going back down below it then you are in-effect viewing the model without the influence of the modifiers above it.

To edit the mesh after the unwrap modifier changes either add another edit mesh modifier on top of the unwrap modifier (though you really should be using edit poly) or right click the unwrap modifier and choose 'collapse to'. Collapsing the unwrap modifier into the stack will 'bake' the changes into it.

Adding another unwrap modifier afterwards will allow you to make more changes after that.

That did the trick, thank you. However, whats the difference between edit poly and edit mesh? i didnt create the model, im just trying to modifying it so when i open it i click on modify and i get the editable mesh stack in the first place, then i add the uvw stack but it always come on top of editable mesh. Now that i did what you said, there is a new stack on top of that called edit mesh which is the same model, but it is independent from the model i have on editable mesh. Does it mean now i have 2 models on one? which is the real one? or how does it work? im really confused. Thank you.

You only have one model. Edit mesh and edit poly are similar but edit poly is newer and has better modelling tools. you can use either it doesnt matter to your model.
They are basically sets of tools to use with your model, they are not the models them selves. Each modifier holds the changes done to the model in the modifier itself.

So if you add an edit poly modifier and move some faces around with that modifier then delete the modifier it will erase any changes done within that modifier. If you do the changes then collapse the modifier into the stack you are baking/saving the changes into the model and wont be able to go back or remove those change (past your undo history) so you need to learn when to collapse and when not to.

So if i select collapse after finishing making my changes in edit mesh these changes will be transferred over editable mesh? thats a relief. So collapse to is kinda another name for merge, isnt? Thank you.
