Text & Turbo Smooth
show user profile  adammichell
Hit a problem...

I need this mesh to be quite dense so I can apply a bend modifier.
If I tessellate the divide only applies to the edges.

I want to add turbo smooth, is there any way of dividing the face geometry easily?

Driving me nuts!

Have you tried a quadify mesh modifier?

Start to cut that big ngon over the surface, connecting the perimeter of the letters to the one of the surface. Turbosmooth doesn't like ngons.
Then try to bend.

There is a trick with Pro boolean that can be useful for stuff like this, you have to be careful with curved edges though and it isn't always appropriate. But when it does work, praise the lord!!

That's a nifty little trick!

Cheers :)

Is max the only big 3d package that still has problems with these kind of things? (never tried any other, I'm a noob)
