so I figured it was time to stop spamming the spam thread.

please don't watch if you don't like dull serious stuff. mods please delete anything considered inappropriate or too heavy for maxforums. spoon, please zap if you don't want this kind of thing here.

not a big news item anywhere yet but there is contraversy concerning the recent election in the democratic republic of congo. less democratic than it could be is the allegation. The Congolese are frustrated that no-one seems to give a fek about their situation, so here's a small contribution.

share if you like or raise with your politician or broadcaster of choice or ignore them like everyone else seems to do.

electoral fraud which leaves the incumbent president in power contrary to the wishes of the people. they allege mass murder, rape, torture, etc. under his rule. UN has acknowledged to some degree - there's been a couple of security council resolutions on the situation in the DRC this year.

the ones in the congo are likely to start protesting more forcefully soon.

this will likely result in further violence & deaths which could be avoided if the UN would properly monitor & ensure a fair election. basically a re-run sounds like the way to avoid massive loss of life.

the problem with dictators is they hold all the power & if you protest they just shoot you.

not much we can do, it's a politics/govt/un issue but, thought I'd throw it out there.

thanks mods for leaving this up. realise it's fairly edgy.

yes - I know there's a lot of info here to get your head around even if you are interested. that's why I threw this up here. I'm out of brain space & have other stuff to be doing too. I care but have to balance with my time requirements for other things.

aj seems to be leading most of the mainstream media by covering this ahead of the pack. again. they rock.

No, and I don't think the world will miss him much. Let's hope Kim-Jong Un is less of a complete dick head.

Ronery. So ronery....

... and ultimately leads to people imagining they have freedoms while corporations take control of governments, fleece economies and ultimately are no better than dictatorships.

$28 trillion given to US banks to cover their mistakes.

Fuck me.

most of that is true but no-one's shooting or torturing you or raping your mother/sister/gf for daring to have an opinion which is out of step from that of the government.

No, they kill us slowly, financially, over time.

Buy, your point is correct. There are a few leaders on this planet, who need to be deposed. It's been a good couple of years for that, let's hope that the trend continues.

Thats only because they succeed at bleeding us dry :) The shooting and torturing part happens when people revolt.

Wow. This thread could use some more sunshine and rainbows.
