talk nerdy to me

Ok, CPUs and mother boards in this thread...

I finally have some cash to blow on a new machine which would be very nice to get, but I don't want to rush into things and buy too soon, or too late in the ticks and tocks of intel..

Let's talk LGA 2011, with the tri planar transistors.. So far, from what I have been reading, there actually is no official release date out for LGA 2011 CPUs at the moment from intel, there is speculation by consumers, but no official release date.

Some think that Bulldolzer will push intel to give a release date, perhaps....

I guess what I am getting at, is I want to build a killer machine specifically built for 3ds, but I can't afford to be spending 1k on a single, new cpu (if LGA 2011 came out, they would need to be around the 400 dollar price range for me to bite). Historically, do any of you techies have any speculation on how much a top end (not extreme edition, just flagship cpu) LGA 2011 cpu will start off for?

Also, have any of you guys heard of LGA 2011 MB supporting dual CPUs? Any news on this little bit of info?

and lastly, when it comes to getting the most bang for your buck, I was always told to stay one step behind the game in tech.. Would it be smarter to just build a pc now, with the current socket type, and not wait for LGA 2011 to come out since a killer i7 goes for about 280 on newegg?

Feed some suggestions to me gents so I am not spending my hard earned cash stupid like..

isn't the text supposed to be across the boobs? So you are drawn in. Having the text there makes me look at her neck.

I think that on a, ahem, smaller girl, it might well be across the boobs.

I can't find the thread but Stabby had some good advice on what mb and processor was the best buy right now. Some sandy beach thing or something.
Wish I could find it because I'm getting ready for a new build.
And big girls = win!

ok, putting aside large boobies and over weight females, I am hearing Q4 for the release of most of this new stuff...

So, how do quarters work? When is Q4? FML!

edit: Stupid months...

Q1 - January, February, and March
Q2 - April, May, and June
Q3 - July, August, and September
Q4 - October, November, December

If it is Q4 that is far off... I might just say screw it and build it now, what do you guys think? a i7 overclocked at 5ghz should be plenty for my quality of 3ds max work... and besides, if it is moving to gpu based rendering, that can easily be upgraded, the cpu, not so much...

Jeez, two people calling this girl overweight? You guys are harsh. I thought the shirt bearing what looks dangerously close to Comic Sans font would get more criticism.

I don't think she's overweight. Curvy, I would have said. Curvy is good (aria giovanni, etc).

In the link I posted, it lists a mobo with support for dual 12-core chips. Oh my, I would love to have that now.

I'll start putting together a new machine in a couple of weeks (first time!)
So I'm also interested by what the techies have to say.

Stabby, you around?

nothing wrong with curves as long as they're healthy.

that girl is a few slices of cake from a second chin... and that's not healthy.

After extensive research... (yes, I'm bored)

She's not as big as she looks in that picture, or she's put on a bit.
