Surround sound on Sky
i have a sony hd tv, a sony bluray surround sound home cinema system and a sky hd box. the surround sounds works great on discs, however on sky on demand films i only ever get surround sound on programmes with 'DD' (dolby digital) in the info section. any film with 'DS' (dolby surround) is played as just standard stereo with zero coming out of the rear speakers and is really annoying as most the films have DS not DD.
my cabling setup is... skyhd --> high speed optical --> home theatre --> hdmi --> tv --> hdmi --> skyhd.
as far as i know it should just work! if it works for some films then it should work for others. I realise not all DD prorammes are surround sound but all DS films should be surely?!

Well i can set the home theatre to force dolby prologic but its still not full surround. Little disappointing really.

Why do I see 3 replies listed next to the tread title but only 2 replies when I click on it?

My guess: they simply do not broadcast movies with more than 2 channels. Same thing here in belgium. I suppose streaming hd + 6 audio channels would demand too much bandwidth.

so if im getting this right, toslink takes the audio from the box to home theatre and hdmi takes video from box to tv? I would have suggested checking hdmi versions but that would have nothing to do with it.
