Guys,

I have a bunch of subgroups and some are white but most are greyed.
How do i turn the greyed out ones to white so i can edit them ?

Not zBrushed in a while, but pressing 'T' should get you into Edit mode. Click your subtool and try it.

Nope, i am in edit mode, still greyed out (t gets me out of edit mode).

The image above shows the head greyed out for some reason but the eyes are white and i can edit them.
I have about 20 hair meshes that need sculpting but i can only edit the last one i made.
I made them by painting on the head using a curve brush and then split them up into subtools, maybe that's where i did something causing the inactivity ?

Zomg... they were automatically masked out it seems ...

Remains the question why some are white and others dimmed out...

If you hadn't cropped the right off I would have a better clue. They could be grey from being painted grey, they could be grey because the "eye" icon isn't ticked. Not sure.

I seem to remember that the grey ones are not made editable in some strange way.

Cant remember whats its called...

Maybe you have to add them to a list of editable objects?

Looks cool..

For what it's worth - in ZBrush, if you cntrl-click the background, then click-drag and double-click over part of the model whilst simultaneously right-clicking and holding shift intermittently, it will do something but i have no idea what. Certainly the model will go light grey, then dark grey, then become impossible to edit, and pressing clear-mask will do nothing. Also, the material will probably change and you will never know just how to get it back to the way it was..
