Stolen website and content
show user profile  Dmax71
Hi guys ..
Im after some advice, I used to have a website www.Dmax-scripts.co.uk it was up for a few years but I let it go as I just got a bit bored with it in the end anyway that was a few years back and a few days ago I thought I would get it up and running but the problem is someone has taken the old domain name I was using, now that's not really the thing that bugs me but the fact that they have also uploaded my old website to that address has pissed me off some what.. the whole site is my work and everything show on that site is mine the 3d work and a shit load of photos ..
don't you think this is a bit odd ? and is there anything I can do about this ?
anyone else come across this sort of thing before ?

If you type the domain into whois.net you can often get the registrants name and address etc.

Here's your culprit, a hungarian guy called Andras Piroska, wasn't hard to track down:

I don't get the angle of the guy who hijacked your shit.. Not selling any of it, no contact information to speak of on the website (that I could find), so.... Where is the benefit to this guy? Maybe he does this to a few sites and you aren't his only hijack...

Use the wayback internet time machine or whatever to mock up retired sites in hope of some sort of buyout from the original owner?

Why someone who advertises himself as a "Freelancer FX artist and Motion designer" would hijack a 4 year old website is also beyond me.

Smells like some kind of domain scam to me too.

contact the web master and see if they can remove the images for you. This is google's recommendation on how to contact the web master.

Theres some legal ground here regarding personal images that you have not consent to. You can potentially take it further from here once you are able to contact the person. No harm in trying.

I would mail him a picture of his family and his front door with a note that says, " I can steal your things too! "

So weird. Maybe look into something like https://www.imagerights.com/ and charge him for the use of your images at least.
